Another wedding, another pair of heels, and another day of dress shopping… Does the cycle ever end?

Preach it sister. I know how easy it can be to throw on that same little red dress you’ve been wearing for years now and your most boring, yet comfortable pair of black flats. That’s where I come in. Consider me the security alarm that starts going off when you reach for that lackluster stretchy red cotton dress. Let me repeat myself: Step away from the cotton dress!

clothesI know what you are thinking. “Then what am I supposed to wear? Let’s discuss this, and how to find comfort during those times of looking in your closet with frustration and (dare I say it?) “NOTHING TO WEAR!”

I say those 3 words… a lot.. daily. How do you take a few of your other closet staples and re-use them so you do not look like you are wearing the same outfit to all 27 weddings you have to attend in one year? Let’s get to the solution.

Drum roll please…

Living in Montana, the weather is quite bipolar. It LITTE-RALLY (insert Parks and Rec reference) will snow in July. So we have to be prepared! Unless it is 103 and blazing outside, I am always sporting something for the cooler temps when I head to a Montana ceremony. The majority of weddings are held outside due to the picturesque backdrop that our gorgeous summers bring, and once that sun goes down you are wishing you had a down jacket or a pair of pants… and that would just look silly with a dress. I find it quite frustrating when I have to cover up my style with a big puffy coat, so I compromise!

Accessories are my jam. Let me introduce you to 3 dressy, yet warm accessories that have changed my life.

WARNING: Your mind is about to be blown.

It is as simple as that. Tights are an accessory that a lot of people tend to forget about. They are getting so darn cute as of late. SO many colors and designs, makes me want to wear a dress or a skirt everyday!

Vests and kimonos are the same way. We are in the fashion age where fur, denim, and all sorts of print vests are coming back into style. They are everywhere! Kimonos can be worn with anything you can think of, and they add that extra punch of style that makes you look like you actually tried in the morning. There is nothing I like more than rolling out of bed, throwing my hair in a messy bun or braid, and picking out a cute accessory from my closet to off set the bed head. Those are the days that I tend to get the most compliments!

So take this piece of advice into your closet when picking out an outfit for your next wedding. The simplest addition of a hat, chunky necklace, poppin’ tights or your new favorite sweater or kimono can take you to the next level, and make you feel a little bit sassy. Don’t live in a cool place? 1. I am jealous. and 2. You can still add some sass with a bold lipstick and some flashy jewelry. Get creative!

What are your ideas to spice up a wedding guest outfit? I would love to hear them! Because let’s face it, the bold and sassy ladies are the ones out there making a statement and pursuing the life they want to live.

How about we re-write that first blog sentence:

Another wedding, another opportunity to SHINE, another chance to be bold, to celebrate, to stand out, to inspire. So wear that red lipstick, rock that crazy hat, and make an entrance where ever you go.

“Nothing makes a woman more beautiful than the belief that she is beautiful.” – Sophia Loren

Work it, beautiful ladies.

I love red lipstick but sometimes it is tough to pick one out! I am a red head with brown eyes and fair skin. Do you have a brand/color that you think would be a good fit?

Hi lady! My favorite brands are revlon and julep. I usually pick out some great revlon options at Target. My FAVORITE type is their color burst lip butter because it looks like lipstick and acts like Chapstick. I also put it on one time and it stays for the rest of the day. Julep is what I am wearing in the pictures. I order it online from and use their lip crayons. I have them in 3 different colors! As far as coloring for red heads, experiment! I tend to stay away from the orange-reds because they clash with the red hair. But pinks, purples, and deep reds will look gorg and make your eyes pop! Xo
