Spring has sprung and it’s time to add some color and flare to your wardrobe, nails, scents and HOME. I couldn’t help but giggle the other day when I was decorating our mantle and Mike said “Wow, you really DO have decorations for every holiday.” You bet I do! It is so cheap and easy to make a few small changes in your home that make all the difference each season. My secret as always? The target dollar section, TJ Maxx Clearance section and a few Hobby Lobby crafts.
Burlap Banner: Target Dollar Section ($1) | Scrabble Tiles: Hobby Lobby Project ($13) | Break Espresso Canvas: Created with a photo I took turned Sepia tone with Walgreens Photo ($20)
I purchased the wooden tiles from Hobby Lobby as well as the stain, acrylic paint and Scrabble stencils! From there it was pretty simple. 1. stain the tiles 2. sponge the stencils 3. Rub the corners with sand paper for a “worn” look 4. BAM! Since we don’t have a Hobby Lobby in Missoula, I bought the craft items online.
4″x4″ Square Wood Plaque | 3″ Letter Stencil | Gel Stain
Found the following items in the Target Dollar Section: Adorable wooden bunny banner ($3) | Think Spring wooden sign:($3) | Pink and Yellow tins: ($1 ea) | Easter Egg Tree: ($3) | Mason Jar with faux flowers: Jo Ann Fabrics. I just spray painted the jar with turquoise paint and rubbed it with sand paper to give it a “vintage” feel. | Happily Ever After Sign: TJ Maxx Clearance Section ($8)
Happy Spring, Peeps!
